ALFRED HYMAS
Alfred Hymas was told by the highways agency that they needed to get their MOT area up to standards. Stewart from Alfred contacted us requesting a quotation and advice on the safety markings that where required.
Our project consisted of installing new safety floor marking to the perimeter of 5 inspection pits.
We recommended an slip resistant coating system.
We quoted to do this work in safety yellow with black chevrons installed at 45-degree angles.
The 6th pit area was a full slip resistant floor coating system with the same pit edge marking system and full MOT compliant floor markings.
The existing floor coating system was failing extensively due to a high moisture content in the concrete slab. Our moisture test reading came in at over 5.5% MC.
We overcame this problem by installing two coats of Damp Proofing Membrane Primer (DPM) with a full broadcast of quartz aggregate to form a slip resistant damp proof sandwich system.
We then overcoated it with high build resin
