What are the benefits of MMA Systems (Fast Curing Floor Coatings)?
Fast-curing MMA flooring systems provide a durable and resilient surface with rapid installation and minimal downtime. They offer outstanding UV stability, preventing fading and yellowing even in areas exposed to direct sunlight, while delivering excellent resistance to abrasion, impact and chemicals.
Their seamless, non-porous finish inhibits the growth of bacteria and mould, creating a hygienic, easy-to-clean surface suitable for demanding commercial and industrial environments. MMA systems are available in a wide range of colours and can be enhanced with anti-slip aggregates or decorative quartz finishes to meet both safety and aesthetic requirements.

INSTALLATION DETAILS
- Although VOC compliant and odour free when dry, MMA has a very strong odour during installation.
- UV-resistance prevents colour fading
- Ideal for fast turnaround renovations
- Rapid curing, even in cold temperatures
- Thermal shock and chemical protection suitable for restaurant and kitchen applications
- Excellent water-resistance
- Excellent self-bonding characteristics, which means that it’s easy to repair should damage ever occur
- Low-gloss finish
- Easy-to-clean seamless
MMA floorings can be installed at temperatures down to -30°C without any detrimental effect on cure time. For most epoxy and polyurethane resins, manufacturers’ guidelines advise they should not be installed at temperatures of less than 5-10°C, with the optimal cure temperature being approx. 20°C.
MMA FLOORING VS EPOXY/POLURETHANE FLOORING
Cure times affect how quickly an installation can occur and then how quickly the floor can be returned to full use – or other trades come back into the area to work. When a resin floor has reached a physical cure, it is trafficable, however, chemicals are still released into the air until the resin reaches a full chemical cure.
MMA FLOORING
Time to full physical cure (i.e. able to full traffic): 2 Hours
Time to full chemical cure (i.e. able to full use): 2 Hours
EPOXY/POLYURETHANE FLOORING
Time to full physical cure (i.e. able to full traffic): 12-48 Hours
Time to full chemical cure (i.e. able to full use): 3-10 Days
Having searched the web for local floor refurbishment companies we came across a few which included Diamond Resin, having asked for quotations from a few and carried out site visits we found the finish from Diamond Resin to be the best option. Gerry, their project manager came across as very enthusiastic and cost reasonable against other quotations.
We found Diamond Resin to be a very professional company. Floor coating for ITV News quote to completion. They completed the painting of our new studio floor on time, for a competitive price to a very high standard. We would use them again without hesitation.
Diamond Resin previously undertook works at two blocks that we manage. The service provided was excellent from start to finish and prices were competitive. All works were completed to a high standard and any snagging was dealt with in a timely manner.

POLYASPARTIC SYSTEMS
In busy industrial settings having a durable floor is essential. However, it may be that there is not enough time within the shutdown periods to have a resin floor installed with longer cure time. A polyaspartic floor has the benefit of being able to withstand light traffic after a few hours when the correct temperature and conditions are met. Therefore, if you are needing a resin floor which is strong and ready to be used after a few hours, a fast curing polyaspartic resin flooring product may be the right choice for you.
This product is currently revolutionising the concrete floor coating and sealing industry because it can be applied at nearly any temperature, bonds easily to nearly any concrete surface, cures to full strength within half an hour, is flexible enough to fill small cracks, can withstand high temperatures, and has superior stain and UV resistance.
With this product, it is imperative that the substrate moisture vapor emission rate cannot be high and we need to have the proper solids content in the Polyaspartic coating to allow it to wet out the concrete surface to develop a proper bond.
POLYASPARTIC FEATURES & USES
With Polyaspartic coatings we think believe that the benefits outweigh the problems. Essentially this product should only be installed by professionals who have extensive floor coating experience as the advantage of a fast cure can become a detriment if the material sets before application is complete.
The cost ratio to performance ratio of this system coupled with ease of application and fast turnaround times is increasingly making Polyaspartic the modern material of choice for today’s heavy duty floor.

FAST CURE FLOORING SPECIALISTS
FAST CURE FLOORING: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Quick answers to the questions we get asked most about our fast curing coating — from downtime and load capacity to safety, installation and lead times.
How quickly can the floor be back in use?
Standard epoxy is typically walk-on in 12–24 hours and full-traffic in 3–7 days. Where downtime is critical, our fast-cure MMA systems return to full traffic in 1–2 hours — so we can work overnight or zone-by-zone around live operations.
Can you install while we keep operating?
Yes. Most installs are phased — we section off areas, work nights or weekends, and sequence the install so racking and traffic keep moving. We plan the programme around your operation at the survey stage.
How long will the floor last?
With the right specification and proper preparation, our resin floors typically last 10+ years in heavy-duty environments. Every installation is backed by a workmanship guarantee.
Do you handle surface preparation and repairs?
Yes — full surface preparation is always included: shot-blasting or diamond grinding, joint and crack repair, moisture testing, and substrate priming.
